Keehn covers Pettibon.

Steve Keene  just finished up a quartet of paintings based on Black Flag Album covers, three of which featured Raymond Pettibon drawings. I don't think there is a term for this. Well, actually, I guess post-modern would sum it up.

btw if you bid on these I will kill you. Ha ha, just kidding. No, really I'm buying these so go away.

Ratcliff & Ratcliff, 1954.

From the listing: "This architecturally significant MID-CENTURY MODERN home by noted Bay Area architects Ratcliff & Ratcliff is superbly sited on park-like ONE ACRE grounds... The property is zoned for horses and offers across-the-street access to riding trails and the fabulous East Bay Regional Park system.

The architecture is open and free-flowing with strong modern lines and high ceilings. The renovated master suite is stunning: an artful integration of hand cast terrazzo, custom artisan tile, elegant tinted concrete and original clear heart redwood paneling. The dramatic juxtaposition of natural wood and concrete is elegantly elaborated through the home.

Abundant parking and dual driveway entry points at the top and bottom of property add to the ease and elegance of home entertainment.

"Catch of The Week."

People have begun to express interest again in my ink drawings (some of the works have been featured in last year’s weekly online exhibition of drawings, others were seen at my recent show at Pharmaka).

So I had an idea. And here it goes. Every Monday, I’m going to dig through the archive and find a particularly plump one (at least to me) and make it available for sale through the site as the “Catch of The Week.” Today’s special is:

And_he_wished_that

Title: ...and he wished his wife would understand that being married to an artist was not like being married to an ordinary husband.
Description of drawing: India ink on paper, 9" x 12".
Price (including priority shipping): $45

FAQs: If a drawing catches your eye, buy it. It probably costs less than your jeans and it will last longer. All the drawings are unique - some are India ink or walnut in, others are acrylic ink. They are not prints or copies of drawings. All are hand-drawn on archival paper, signed and dated on the back. They all fit standard frames available at frame shops, art supply depots, and even drugstores (if you're in a hurry). I don’t take checks, click on the paypal button. This drawing goes to the first buyer. There will be a new one up next week. Email me with any questions.

Letterpress.

I'm so bored with the resurgence of letterpress.

Most of it is used for fro-fro-crafty-business that puts me to sleep. It never seems to harken back to its glory days as the medium of choice for boxing posters, wrestling notices and union placards. Well, except for Rebecca Ann Rakstad at Rar Rar Press.
